Dana,

Just a thought, in the RV industry (motor homes, more specifically "diesel pushers" the
rad. is located either in the actual rear or on the side of the engine compartment. For
the rear application, air is drawn up over the engine and exits out the rear, through
the rad. (opposite air flow of normal aplications), for side mounted rads, the air is
pulled into the engine compartment.

I have always wondered why VW didn't utilize the rear facing rad. It would have been the
most efficient application.
