It was great fun to meet one of our fellow > listers "live and in person"..... > Jon Kanas Jon and Kim were more than gracious, along with their fascinating kid, dog, cat, car, and house collections. 3K miles Sacratomato/Denver/Sac. Saw some fantastic country, met some great people, and waved "hi" to a bunch of westies. Saw a beautiful syncro westie in Colorado National Monument while looking over the spires of Monument Valley. With some parts (thanks Ron), digitool (thanks Darrell), knowledge (thanks Ken and everyone else), the bloody van actually didn't do anything wierd. There is hope in diligent preventative maintenance. The weekender is great for camping. Were so delighted with our successful trip, Candy and I would like to make our place available to vanagon/bus people looking for a stopover camping spot near Sacramento, the epicenter of many world class recreation opportunities within about 200 miles in any direction. Yosemite, SF, Sierras, Tahoe, gold mines, Monterey, Lassen, Reno, Napa, Tierra del Fuego. Cheers, Tom Neal '87 Syncro weekender |
