This weekend, I replaced the aux battery relay setup in my 87 Westfalia with a solid state battery isolator using the Sure Power 952R. This is the isloator that requires you to modify the alternator so that you get the full 13.8v charging voltage without incurring a drop across the isolator diodes. The installation was straightforward, but took several hours to get everything done nicely and neatly. Total cost was approximately $50 for the isloator, circuit breaker, and some crimp-on ring terminals. Anyone having questions should pmail me as this topic has been discussed adfinitum and I don't want to clutter the list with yet another discussion of isolators vs. relays. MM
