think you've got a weekender? maybe so...maybe not. the term "weekender" is widely misused. the "weekender" package, or "weekender interior" refers to a 7 PASSENGER van with the back seat that folds down into a full length sofabed, with a cushion over the engine, and the middle seat that has split folding seatbacks that fold forward. that is the only Official "weekender" designation VW ever used. from '85-'87, and again on the '90-'91 Multivan , VW offered the Non-GL CAMPER with a poptop, full length bed, LR cabinet, fold out side table, rear facing seat(s), but no sink/stove etc , which is sometimes dubbed (unofficially) a "westy weekender". the '87-'91 7 pass Carat, and 7 pass wolfsburg PASSENGER vans have what is known as the Carat/wolfsburg interior, or seating arrangement with the rear facing jumpseats, fold out side table and rear sofabed, not to be confused with the "weekender interior"..... just fyi.... chris |
