Since we have a fiberglass boat (17' O'Day Daysailer), I had some boat cleaner and wax lying around. After hosing down and scrubbing the luggage rack with dishsoap, I used Collinite's No. 920 Boat Cleaner. Actually, I used some kerosene to clean off duct tape and related goop before I used the boat cleaner. The 920 claims to leave the fiberglass "chemically clean," which implies taking off any oxidized layers. Seemed to work quite well, leaving a bit of a white haze. I used Collinite's Boat Wax to finish up and the luggage rack now looks pretty darned good. Now I just have to wait for the Bus Depot to ship me the new seal. :-) YMMV. -Karl PS: Anyone ever tow a Daysailer with a Vanagon?
