Hi Michael, Check the voltage of the O2 sensor it should be bouncing above and below 0.5 volt. If it reads higher than 0.5 the engine is rich if lower than 0.5 it is lean. The voltage from the temperature 2 sensor ( coolant ) should be around 0.1 volt with engine that is warmed up. Darrell Ps. you must use a lcd type meter to check the oxygen sensor voltage. ----- Original Message ----- From: Pabst Michael <Michael.Pabst@VT.SIEMENS.DE> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, June 01, 1999 7:38 AM Subject: 86 digifant running rich
> Here's my puzzler: 86 digifant. Runs good but: High CO emissions at idle as well as at fast idle (3krpm), fails the German smog check, 15 mpg (on long as well as on short distance rides), checked compression, temp sensors and replaced OXS sensor. Digifant unit defective ? > Michael > 86 7-seater > 80 Westy > 86 Quantum > |
