Very glad to hear you are OK. That is the important thing. As I always
say, it doesn't matter how good a driver you are or what you drive to get
into an accident! Sometimes it just happens.
With regard to your working with the insurance company. Don't settle for
the first number they give you. Always fight it as much as you can. I was
even told that the initial offer is at least 15% less than what the claim
adjuster can authorize. That means the adjuster can give you 15% more on
the spot. Research like you are doing is the key.
Here are some adds I found in our area (Oregon):
'84 Westy $7300
'85 Westy $6900
'89 Carat $10,000
Nothing exactly what you need but perhaps you can use. you can also search
the archives since people sometimes post adds around the country. You can
also try local newspapers on the web. For instance, our local paper, The
Oregonian, has a search engine for their classifieds.
http://classifieds.oregonlive.com/auto/
Also try:
http://www.salemclassifieds.com/cv3/salem/search?mainclass=TRANSPORTATION&ba
tch_size=20&ListSubclass.x=66&ListSubclass.y=15
and
http://www.traderonline.com/
With some searching, you may be able to compile the best list of adds from
around the country!
Let me know if I can be of more help. Again, I'm glad to know you are OK.
