There has been a lot of discussion about the best way to deal with the inferior low beams on the Vanagon.

My '87 Westy came with a set of non-working driving lights mounted above the bumper, and I figured the cheapest way to deal with it was to fix them.

To make a long story short, after playing with the wiring and relay, that part appears to be OK, but one of the lights is pretty trashed, and the other has a broken part, so it might be simplest thing is to leave the existing wiring and replace the lights themselves. They are 55 watt bulbs, so I think I should stay with that size.

Does Bosch sell spare parts for driving lights? Their site didn't list parts. One of the lights just needs the plastic piece at the bottom that holds the lens in replaced.

Anybody out there have a suggestion for an inexpensive set of lights that gives good results? I have been looking on the net, and it's hard to tell what's the best way to go. I'm looking for lights that work particularly well to supplement the low beams?

Thanks

- Mike Finkbiner '87 Westy
