Subject:      Re: gas mileage
Content-type: text/plain; format=flowed;

what kind of gas milage should i expect from my 87 westy? this weekend i traveled 900 mi with 2 adults 1 child a dog and about 150 pounds of stuff. wind was moderate to light. i noticed that at around 70mph i run good and even have power to pass but i really burn up the gas(rpm is about 4100 to 4300). i tried runnig a tank full of gas at 60 to 65 mph and under 4000 rpm. i traveled further on the same amount of gas and my gas milage was 16 mpg. is this what i can expect or is it possible to get 18 to 20 mpg. this was our first trip in our new van and i gained a new appretiation for driving. i'm even willing to go slower (within reason) if i can get better gas milage. i used only amaco gold, 92 or 93 oct., as i was told by the previous owner. thanks for your comments. rob
