Subject: Head change/engine replacement on 84, info needed

I have low compression in one cylinder so need to either change the head or put in a rebuilt engine since this one has 200k on the clock. Can anyone give me some info on the following (either on the list or privately):

1. How easy is it to change a head without removing the engine?

2. Who makes a good quality rebuilt engine. I tried to search the archives for this but could not get through. How do GEX compare (can get for $1800)?

If you have done with of these operations I would like to discuss it with you off the list if possible

Many Thanks David
