Not at all unusual for Winnipeg, however.

A dealer-detailed 91 Westy is about to go on sale here for just under 20 K, and he will get it. This is just the third one this VW dealer has been able to get in the past year.

Like I've said to listee's before, Winnipeg is the place to sell your Westies. I don't really know why. Perhaps because of our isolated culture and economic (good) condition, they have caught the locals fancy.

Maybe the prominance of military folks here who drive german cars has a positive effect (lot's and lot's of 'em drive German cars)- the military saved Winnipeg from the floods a couple of years ago - so the military are somewhat esteemed here.

In any event, Westies are "like gold" here, to quote an automobile salesman.

BTW: after the floods ended, there was a military parade through the center of town, and the streets were thick with applauding people - it was like they were our liberators after a foreign invasion. Made the National news.

Cheers!
