Subject: Garage Spring Cleaning: Diesel Vanagon parts FS
Comments: To: diesel@vwfans.com

The spring cleaning of my garage resulted in the following stuff. Offers for the lot or items are taken. See below for details.

1/ Low milage Diesel engine block. (Got a video of it winter starting and pushing a Westy at 65mph before I pulled it) 2/ Oil filter flange with the oil cooler. 3/ Diesel injection pump 4/ Cast mount that holds alternator and inj. pump 5/ Oil pump. 6/ Cast cooling system fittings. 7/ 2x Water pump and housing with 40mm hub. 8/ Std VW motor mount (left), rubber mounts and some cut parts to make the special mounts needed for some swaps. (e.g. when using golf/jetta manifolds.) 9/ Exhaust system & brackets to mount it. 10/ Intake and exhaust manifolds. 11/ Airbox. 12/ Snorkel air intake & cyclon water separator. 13/ Cooling system hoses. 14/ Transmission w. 5.43 final drive (This is the middle ratio, a bit lower than the 5.89 in most Diesel Vanagons, and a bit higher than the 4.86 in the late model WBX but close to the 5.5 ratio of the European turbo Diesel Vanagon)

Parts 2 to 13 are special to fit the inline 4 block into the Vanagon engine bay which was really only designed for the boxer. All parts are in good used condition except the oil pump is new.

This pretty much makes up a full kit to change a Diesel engine. Lets you drive that mint Westy with blown engine home after a quick pop in of this engine. I'd be looking for a few hundred for a basic running (assembled, timed and ready to start) engine kit (Block, Inj pump, Oil pump, Waterpump etc) and maybe 500 or so for the whole lot above. I'd prefer to sell it as a whole, or in significant lots rather than individual items.

Serius inquiries only please.

Thanks, Martin -- Westy 1.9l Turbo Diesel Quantum 1.6l Turbo Diesel
