Subject:      100v -> 220v switch on fridge?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi Volks,

I have a 1986 Westfalia which came over to Switzerland from Canada a few years ago. Yesterday, I came upon the 110v cable and plug and it occurred to me that maybe it would be time to change this to 220v. Has someone ever noticed whether the fridge has a switch to use 110v or 220v. I've never even run it on external power before, only on gas or 12v, so it's no big loss if it's not possible, but it would be nice to know. The stupid thing is that I had the fridge out to clean it 2 weeks ago, and I didn't think about this issue then, when I could have looked.

I was also wondering (actually my friend was skeptical) when I might actually use the 220v, and whether it was worth the effort. I hardly ever go to campgrounds at all. What practical uses are there for having external power?

Thanks! Darie
