Joel Had '72 and '81 campervan. Bought canvas tent in 87. It has a heavy duty floor. Does not have to attach to vehicle: Self-supporting. Great cond. Designed to fit in bag which fits in cavity on roof above front seats. No holes required. The best part is that you can leave the tent set up relatively secure and drive away. It sets up along side the van. Metal frame. One big room! Paul +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hello Paul,

Your ad for a tent / canopy was posted on the Vanagon Internet list so you may get quite a few messages. I have a 1989 Westfalia camper and live in Rochester New York. I am really interested in the tent. I would like to know a few more details on the tent:

You mentioned that it is self standing but how does it attach to the van? Does it use the top rail above the door? Does it have a floor mat or is it just the side tarps? Does it have one large open room or is it partitioned off? Does it have access from the VW sliding door or the rear hatch? How old is it and how much use have you had with it? I assume that your price is in Canadian Dollars: $C250 (which is slightly cheaper for me in US$)

Thanks for any further details,

Joel B. Cort

This is a heavy duty self-supporting tent/canopy designed by Westfalia, the company that outfits the campervan for Volkswagen in Germany. It is specially made to work with any model of Volks but is well suited for any camper van. Approx. 10 x 12 ft. Beige and brown. Original owner paid $1000. I will sell for $250. Phone 684-7015.
