I'm with you, there is nothing worse.  After the pillow dropping took place
a couple of times I tied the corner of the pillow to the roof bracket with a
4-5ft length of string, that way it's not held firm so you can still move it
around while tossing and turning and if it drops you can reel it back up.
Try it out, it's worked fine for me.
