I would definately go with the AC/DC units. I have an inverter in my van and I don't like using it. Some some reason, there is "noise" on the picture that shows up as slight fluctuating lines on the screen. The manufacturer says this is common for the lower end inverters ($80) when used with TVs.

I now have an AC/DC 9" TV with an AC/DC VCR hooked up on the shelf directly under the sink. My friend made me a box/tray for it so that I can hook the TV over the roof latch. I then satbilize it with bungee cords attached to the headrests of the seats. My 8 year-old son can then plug in the earphones and watch the TV while travelling.

We found that the 9" TV was ideal for the Westy. However, I do have a suggestion if you want something larger. We bought my son a 13" TV/VCR for his room. It was made by FUNAI (F13TRF1). We bought it as a re-manufactured unit at Bi-Way for $299 Canadian (about $200 American)
