My wheel used to squeak. You don't have to remove wheel to fix. There are two plastic halves of a clamshell that come apart with a few screws that hide the wires for the turn-signal and ignition switch. There is a round flange ring at the top that is immediately against the wheel hub. File this down a little. If that does not work, again remove the plastic covers, and you will see a pair of screws which hold the steering column to the dashboard. Loosen the screws (don't remove) and pull up on the steering wheel (The holes are slotted to allow adjustment) Tighten screws while applying some upward force on wheel, this should give you some extra clearance between wheel and housing. |
