After rechecking my wiring continuity tests and rechecking the inner workings of the L. door lock motor, I was stumped. The L. lock, when actuated, would continue to cycle all the locks until the red wire was disconnected. With it disconnected all locks worked fine from the actuation of the R. side lock. Then I noticed that the R. lock was not cycling with the rest when actuated from the L. side.......hmmmm.........so I disconnected the wire to it, and voila!, no more cycling from the L.! I then decided to open up the R. motor, cleaned all the contacts, replaced one tiny broken spring, and all is working perfect again! A new lesson in Vanagon repair learned today.
