Dan,
The myriad of problems that can cause your vehicle to stop working as you
describe, is not endless. For separate systems have to be in place in
working properly in order for your vehicle to run. Through process of
illumination, you can figure out which system is not working, and which
part in that system has failed.
The for systems are as follows: the starter system, the ignition system,
the mechanical system, and the fuel system.
First off is the starter turn? Does it sound normal? That eliminates that
system.
Do you have sparked at all for spark plugs? That eliminates that system.
Is there a serious mechanical problem; deed you hear clatters and bangs
when it stopped? Is the compression good? That eliminates that system.
Remove one injector. When cranking, does the injector spray properly, in a
pulsed fashion, in a good cone spray pattern? I would bet this system is
your problem. An immediate failure, like the one that you describe, can be
caused by a few things in the fuel injection system. Based on what you
describe, (is limited information) is, I would check the double relay, all
grounds, the hookup to the coil, and just for fun, all of your fuses.
Good luck,

well the wife said, laughing all the way home in our Volvo tow car...'
we need a dry well anyhow. just bury it in the front yard, run our
plumbing though it. son said 'find a huge tree, would make a wonderful
tree house'.
our 80 air cooled westie just damn died last night coming back from
fishing. no hint of trouble, just stumbled then died. there is no gas
smell when cranked, all hoses are ok, one leaking a little, but still
looks like pressure in the lines. haven't checked spark, but think its
somehting with the fuel.
Any thoughts?
