Two problems: Steering wheel: When it gets hot out, the steering wheel starts to squeak whenever I turn it (even just a little). It seems to be plastic or vinyl rubbing some weird squiggly metal thingy where the back of the steering wheel meets the steering column. Any ideas on how to fix this squeak? I'm a little scared to take off the steering wheel for fear I might not get it back on. Seat: Normally I keep the passenger seat rotated about five degrees to keep it quiet. However, if not rotated or if I have a passenger the seat will rattle or click from time to time. I think there used to be some long plastic gizmos that used to go between some of the sliding mechanism to move the seat forward and back. These have since cracked however and I threw them out. I think they prevented rattling and clicking. Has anybody fabricated a solution or know of where to get these plastic things? Thanks, Eric '87 Westy Santa Cruz |
