I have an 1988 westy with H&R springs, and KYB shocks. Michelin MXT 205/70x14 tires on the factory alloy wheels. I've gotten a few questions from list members asking about how low these springs make the van - so I just took some rough measurements. Here is what I got: Ground to front fender lip mid point = 25" Ground to rear fender lip mid point = 26.5" Overall height (eyeballed at rear edge of front door) = 6' 5" I guess the other way to put this is with the stock springs I could slide under the van to do maintenance. Now, if I try to drive up my service ramps in the front, I have to take off the front spoiler for clearance. Ground clearance from bottom of front spoiler (mid point) = 1.75" Ground clearance from bottom of front mudflap to ground = 8"
Hope this is useful info to folks. I'd be interested in how this compares to the stock height. Todd '88 Westy. |
