I am new to the list and a new vanagon owner (86 Westfalia). Forgive me if
my questions are redundant but I couldn't find anything definitive in the
archive:


1) Is Prestone Lowtox coolant acceptable for use with the water boxer (e.g.
phosphates)


2) What is the general consensus on which repair manual is best (if you had
to pick)?
        -Haynes doesn't seem to publish one for anything after 83
        -John Muir's book seems to focus on air cooled machines


3) Does anyone have any experience using the washable air filters produced
by K&N. They are roughly twice the price of disposable filters, but instead
of replacing them you just wash them.


Any insights would be appreciated ...Steve
