Ain't necessarily so!! I have a 90 Carat, 160k, interior has NO rips or tears and when is get shampooed it looks almost new. When I turned my 86 Syncro over to my son, It had 205k, and the interior was still very nice. Upholstery has no rips or tears. The side panels on the other hand had a few holes, but, still very nice. I have owned the Carat since new and the Syncro since 157k. My other 86 Syncro is my daily driver and of course the interior is near perfect...but then, it only has 118k.
