Rob, we drove our '86 Syncro Westfalia to Westies in the Woods in NJ from Ontario, Canada, a trip of 1395 miles (2175 km). Our camper was fully laden (topped up with fresh well water). We used mostly 87 and 89 octane gasoline. We drove through windy, twisty, wet, dry and hot conditions (ain't travel great). Our average gas consumption was 20.6 mpgUS (11.8 litre/100km). Larry
