Funny, the same thing must have happened to the PO of my Syncro. It was all gooped on with RTV when I got the van. I removed all the RTV and cleaned up the window frame and screen frame, then attached it with a strip of Velcro that runs along the bottom edge. Now, I can pull them off while driving and not have to listen to than infernal whistling noise, and then pop 'em back on when camped. BTW, the attachment procedure is easy - top forward corner into the slot, then push down to secure the Velcro.
