A fuel cut off can be a great way to protect your van. You can buy an electric switch for two tanks and just block off the extra tank hoses. switch it to that tank and no gas. The great thing about this set up is that the thief will drive away and then staff 2-3 minutes away. they panic and run away thinking they stole a dud. I have even seen then on a relay so that when you turn off the car they automatically turn of the gas, requiring you to turn on the fuel before you drive away.

I mainly believe in the power of a VISUAL deterrent. The "Club" is great because it sits there where everyone can see it. the thief is going to steal the easiest.
