To all that furnished advise on how to cure a noisy stuck hydraulic lifter, Marvel Mystery oil did the trick. I added about a quart of Marvel to the crankcase, and the rest in the gas tank, took it out for a ride, and within 15-20 minutes the engine was purring like normal again. That stuff really works. (no! I am in no way affiliated with the marvel mystery oil people, or are any members of my family). Happy Camper! "81 Westy (no name yet)
