Ok...i replaced the fuel filter, and the problem is still there and we are supposed to leave for a special father's day campout with another family and i'm running out of time. I never had a problem before so i am not well acquainted with the FI system components. Symptoms: (1) at first, it missed at the very initial throttle range...like 1/16th throttle...especially when deacellerating...like a flat spot...no fuel flow is what it felt like...ignorant instinct said "throttle switch adjustment." On acceleration initially if i hold it at 1/16th throttle, it surges up...down...up...down..up...down (2) if i hold the throttle so it is reving at 3000-3500, it is missing there, too...rev...off...rev...off. If i take it up to 4000 rpm, it seems to clear out and not do the rev..off thing Pertinent Info: (1) I recently installed a brand new AFM... and I have the special harness. the new AFM worked fine at first...i mean the symptoms did not coincide with the installation of the AFM exactly, but they did arise not very long afterward. (2) The first time it began missing, I took it out and filled the tank, and everything went back to normal...and stayed fine with no missing on a 300 mile trip. the missing then appeared again the next time i took the van out some weeks later. The symptoms are there now even after refilling the tank and changing the fuel filter. Could this be throttle switch adjustment? Didnt't think so. Should I swap in my old AFM? I will do this tomorrow noght after work. If that does not work, what next? Colby...if you're out there...do you have an opening Friday morning if i can't fix it tomorrow??? Steve |
