im going to be towing an automatic '86 vanagon about 400 miles. method of towing is using a tow dolly. i've towed 4 speed vanagons on tow dollies before, with the trans in neutral and the rear wheels rolling on the ground, but i've never towed an automatic van. would it be advisible to back the van onto the tow dolly, lock the strg wheel, and have the front wheels rolling on the ground? how do i make sure the strg wheel locks straight - so the front wheels dont roll at an angle? any info appreciated.. chris |
