Just for the fun. In 1991, when my wife and I moved into our new house, a friend gave us a hand in the moving with their Westfalia, and my sister with her Vanagon, with my own westie there was three vans on the move. The refrigerator was brought in the vanagon with the half-top sunroof open. The washing/dryer machine they put in the westfalia by opening the top (they assumed it was closed back). On the way, the top blew open and the canvas was ripped. My wife offered to redo it. We bought the canvas and other accessories in a upholstery materials store. We took the ripped canvas out, cut a pattern, sew it and put it back on almost in something like seven hours. |
