I recall dire warnings against battery boosting (and even battery charging) the fuel injected Type III's and IV's that used that beastly electronic fuel injection (D-Jetronic?), as it could fry the computer. Do these warnings apply to the later AFC fuel injection used on the later air-cooled buses and Vanagons? (I'm guessing the air-cooled Vanagons used the same AFC F.I. as the '75 and on Buses -- someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) Unlike the Rabbit and its counterparts, the AFC F.I. used in the Buses did have a computer box, instead of being totally mechanical :-( Thanks, Doug |
