Subject: Re: Replacing pop top bug screen
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

My wife Anne did a very nice job patching a few large slits in our pop top screen. We found some screen material that was a very close match at the local canvas repair emporium, where we had to demonstrate the pop top operation and give an interior tour of the bus to the ladies who operate the sewing machines there. We paid $1.50 for more screening than we will ever use. Anne cut patches sized to cover the torn areas and sewed them into the original screening using a thread that matches the color.

Now I will be the first to admit that it is noticeable as a repair despite the color matching but it doesn't look cheesy, and at $1.50 cost of materials and an hour of Anne's time it was a bargain repair and has proved to be bug free so far.

Anne also sewed up some nice padded mats that line the shelf above the sink so that things don't rattle so much. :-)
