I did not find replacing the screen too difficult. I went to a fabric store and got fine mesh screen to keep out the no-see-ums, which the other one did not do very well. Then I brought everything to my (retired) mother and said "Ma, do you suppose you could put the new screen in this for me"? She used a seam ripper to take everything off the old screen and sewed it on to the new in reverse order. Claims it wasn't a big deal. As a token of my appreciation, I did, however, have to fix two leaky taps and install her new dishwasher for her. Took me several hours...... No such thing as a free lunch....
