There must have been some mistake when you ordered this part. I sell the same collapsable push rod tubes that Ron does for $19 (same price) and I have used them a few times. They work great and there is no need to remove the head. Here is what it looks like: Two tubes, one inside the other with an o-ring inside and a spring (to hold tension after you install it). One of these was a real life saver on my '84 Vanagon GL that had a pretty massive leak from a rusty tube. Replaced it with the collapsible version and it was as dry as a bone for the next year until I sold it. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
