All,

Good news, I can find out the spring rates of the SA HD springs tomorrow. However, I don't have any stock springs for comparison.

I MIGHT be able to get a rear spring off one of my Vans if it's not too hard, but the ever UNhelpful Bentley has NO procedure for removal....I'll have to wing it.

But my book only goes to '84. If someone has one that goes to '91 and wants to sell it lemme know!

AS for syncro springs, I'm not sure why the spring rates would be any different than 2wd. All the extra weight is on the CHASSIS, and since springs only hold up the body, which is the same on 2wd and syncro models, I see no need to have a stiffer spring.

But this is informed speculation by me. If anyone wants to counter-speculate, please feel free.

But I don't know if there is a physical difference between the 2wd and syncros to accomdate the extra hardware. I don't think so.

I would think that a stiffer spring rate would be appropriate forthe heavier bodied Westy.

The search for info continues.....

James
