If the buyer is from the US, you should plan on swapping the entire dash cluster, since the brake warning light lens also needs to be changed if it does not have the word "Brake" on it (The Canadian version had just the picture, with no words).

Importing to the US is no big deal, but the buyer will need to pay a 2.5% duty on the purchase price to US Customs Agency.

I went through the process with importing my crewcab, and the letter from VW was all I needed as far as paperwork goes.
