I've got a Sony(med. price) that does the same thing when I stick the CD adapter cassette housing in it and then not immediately run the prtable CD player. Not sure what's wrong, but unless osmeon more knowedgeable than me speaks up, FORGET the WD 40 in the casette opening!!
