Hey, you are describing the LED in my 87 Syncro as well! I have no solution for it at this moment, but I know I am not leaking any water, I am not running hot, but I suspect the fan is only coming on at high. I haven't checked the flashing LED in my Syncro yet (haven't had time lately), but I suspect it to be the water lever sender, it may have a stuck float. I spoke to a friend that works at the local dealer, he said that they sell quite a few of these, mostly for the diesels. It was only $17, so I guess I'll buy a new one, if the sender is the problem.
