Hi Jim and all you other cruise controllers,

Would "sorta" speed up on slight downhill. One large downhill got it back up to 65 and it was apparent that it was holding it at that speed.

Just a question here: had _you_ _yourself_ been able to manually (er, I mean ... footally :-) maintain a constant speed on the same road and without shifting? I mean did your engine provide enough umph for maintaining a constant speed in fourth gear on that road? If the answer is no, then it's not the fault of the cruise control module. However, if the answer is yes, then your cruise control setup is worse than a factory installed one.

In most cases my cruise control outsmarts me at maintaining a constant speed. There is only one situation I'm aware of where I'm performing better, and that is that I, seeing an upgrade, start accelerating slightly _before_ the vehicle speed starts dropping. That way I have some additional momentum and can postpone or even compensate any speed drop. In contrast the cruise control unit starts opening the throttle only as soon as it senses a drop in speed. Depending on the upgrade this might already be too late.

Sincerely Rainer
