Hi Charlie,

No, I haven't had any response yet. I think it's partially due to the list server being down and the large number of backed up messages that have been coming through in bursts. I think many of those messages get only a very cursory glance by most listees before being bypassed for newer messages.

I'm still trying to find the problem. I have a new O2 sensor in mine, but I didn't replace the injectors (all new fuel lines though!). I'm a little puzzled by this, because it ran very well prior to the rebuild (it just leaked). I'm going to have a look at the AFM, looking for wear as has been discussed in the past, and get that capacitor installed in the ECM.

I have noticed that full-throttle operation is strong and smooth; it's only in the low/midrange area where I'm having problems. Maybe that's an indicator of AFM trouble. Have you noticed any sign of small backfires in the exhaust system? I hear it occasionally when I let off to shift up in gear. During idle, it will *very gradually* slow down and eventually get to the point of stalling, but it doesn't seem to have a significant idle problem. I like your analogy to driving in a gusty wind - it describes pretty well the feeling.

I'll let you know if I learn anything...

Hi Cliff. Did you get any responses off-list Re: your problem? The reason I'm asking is that I've had the same experience. I have an '84GL which I put a rebuilt engine in over the winter. I also put rebuilt injectors in.

Mine starts fine but idles a bit rough. While I'm driving, both under load and cruising, it feels like it looses a little power and then gets it back. It feels kinda like driving in gusty wind, except there's not any wind. It appeared to run a little rich and I needed a new oxysensor anyway so I replaced that but it didn't make it run better. Does yours idle rough?

So, if you got any responses by pmail, could you forward them to me? I'd appreciate it. Charlie
