Ken,
I had my van completely tinted about two months ago.
All windows very dark including the roll down fronts.
Oklahoma state law says five inches of the top front window may be done.
I had 7 inches of the top and 10 inches of the bottom front done.
It is so dark now you cannot see through the van from one side to the other.

The inside temperature after being parked in full Oklahoma sun is MUCH
better.
The tint application place told me it was illegal, but if I had any problem
to bring it back and they would fix it.
The local home town police have said nothing.
