Hi Leo,

If I'm in the same boat with everyone else here, then you're not getting an answer because what you're describing and what's supposed to be at the end of the accelerator cable are two different things. I have an '84 and an '85, and have parted out two other '85s, three standard trannies and one auto. In each case, the end of the cable is a cylinder about 2-3 inches long and 1/8 inch or so wide. this cylinder fits into another cylinder (about 1.4" wide by 1/2" tall) with a hole drilled perpendicular to its height to receive the end of the throttle cable. This stubby cylinder has a threaded hole drilled into its top which receives a small bolt which holds the throttle cable in place. This whole assembly fits in a hole drilled through two pieces of steel which make up the throttle arm. The cable and housing is suspended by a plastic cable hanger which is bolted to the firewall, but that has nothing to do with the end of the cable. Is it possible that someone has modified your injection system so that you are using non-standard parts? Anyway, I'd help if I could, but I'm out of ideas.
