The tables in my '81 Westy were kind of beat up, but the hardware was good. I made new ones by edge gluing some hardwood boards (friejo) with biscuits to firm up the joints. This gave me panels wide enough to cut to the size of my tables, and panels glued up from several boards are more stable than a single wide board, even if you could find one wide enough.

After I cut them to shape, I routed the edges, using a 1/4" rounding bit on the bottom edge and an ogee bit on the top edge. I applied a few coats of water borne poly and screwed the round metal brackets to the bottom. The result was a pair of tables much nicer than the originals.
