I recall that in Bishop, CA there is a fireworks show where they blow up something that looks like an A-bomb - mushroom cloud and everything - it's pretty good... We used to go up to our cabin off of old 395 and spend the week during the fourth. Real nice at 7,000 feet because it never gets too hot.
