With six cars all 11 years or more old, that is a full platter, not just
a plate!

Is it possible someone else on the list has a computer that could be
used as the list server? I, for example, just got myself an AMD K6-III
400mhz with 256mb RAM and a 10.2gb disk, yadda, yadda.  I will probably
tap no more than 20% of its capacity. I also have cable modem access,
which is full time, fast, and gives me an IP address.  I am not
qualified to be a list admin, and I am not running NT, but maybe some
one else out there is and has cable modem or DSL access.

Could "list serving" become simple enough that the task could be easily
ported to different servers as problems develop or admins want to leave
the list?  Just ignorant musings.

I am more than happy to do the work and use my employee discount to get
the items.  I am not willing to collect the money as I have enough
things on my plate.
