Subject: Electrical/gauge question
Content-Type: text/plain

Hi Folks, I recently bought an 84 Westy Wolfsburg. Has anyone else seen these symptoms? I suspect they are related (bad voltage regulator or something). All my gauges read low:

1)The temp gauge sits halfway between cold and the LED when the engine is fully warm (even at 70 mph). 2)The fuel gauge never makes it above 3/4 full. 3)According to the tach, idle is about 600 rpm. 4)The battery indicator by the sink never makes it to green, even after a long trip/charge. 5)The battery light doesn't go out after startup until I rev the engine a bit (it goes out when the tach says about 1500 rpm).

Any ideas?

Brian Keese

ps: As if I weren't proud of my van already... It got its first full-fledged compliment yesterday. Now I am beaming.
