My from heater blower blew, and I was shocked to learn that it costs $100-125 to replace, depending on where you buy it. But my shock turned to horror when my local VW mechanic looked up the labor - 4.5 hours! Wow, this is turning into a very expensive state inspection for me ... He said you basically have to dismantle the whole dashboard to get it out. My question - is this a job a novice DIY person could pull off on a Saturday without (expensive) special tools? Or is it best left to the experts? Any advice would be appreciated.
