Texas and the surrounding country is pretty flat, so you can probably get away with this. Just don't follow anyone too closely! If you get in an accident you could get a negligent driving ticket for exceeding your towing limit and be liable for any damages. I would recommend the auto trans, since the extra weight will be hard on the clutch, especially for launching. I destroyed my clutch in one summer with a 1500 lb boat. I'd also use Red Line's synthetic ATF, which can stand much higher temps. I hope the Westy is the one with the A/T, since it's 4500 lb weight will be more stable on the highway pulling a 3000 lb load. Yikes! 7500 lbs moving down the road!!!
