John-Reed,

You may have a bad ECU. I had similar symptoms to yours and discovered I had a bad ECU. List member Darrell Boehler diagnosed problem and repaired mine for $100. Turns out I had a bad transistor that controls injector duration. Pull the plugs and check for wetness from gasoline - if so you may have injectors stuck on and flooding the engine due to a bad ECU or a short in the FI harness or injector(s).

Disconnect the fuel pump and see if it cranks and runs for a few seconds. If it refuses to fire at all when fuel pump is reconnected you may have found the problem. Another possibility is that you are ingesting enough coolant from said head leak to prevent starting. Look for evidence of coolant in the combustion chamber and on plugs. Contact Darrell for more info. on troubleshooting/ECU repairs.
