The TrailWagon RV web site http://www.chinookrv.com/Performance/ makes the following statement and shows a picture of the RV on the Salt Flats.

"On August 16, 1998 at 11a.m. a stock Chinook Motorhome, with only slight modifications, set a new land speed record (sanctioned by the Southern California Racing Association). The Chinook RV motorhome attained a speed of 99.706 mph in a density altitude of 5384 feet!"

It looks like they will have to relinquish their land speed record title to Michael. I wonder what the Eurobago could do with slight modifications?

Kevin M Bothell, WA '89 Westy (this weekend while loaded with camping gear I did 80 mph for a short stretch, not quite ready for land speed record)
